In case of cancellation, does the company provide accommodation/transfers/insurance?
The Company reserves the right to delay, cancel or reroute the sailing of the vessel without prior notice whether on the outbound or inbound journey, if this is required for safety or technical reasons or due to force majeure. In the event of cancellations, the Company shall refund the unutilized portion of the ticket but shall in no circumstances whatsoever be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage caused thereby and will not accept any claim to reimburse any supplementary expenses.
Is it cheaper to book on line?
Prices are the same for tickets booked and paid for on-line or through a travel agent in possession of Virtu Ferries’ ticket stock.
How can I book?
Bookings may be made via telephone on 22069022, by email to res@virtuferries.com, or by using our website on-line reservation system (please click on the “bookings” tab at the top of the page. The page will help you go through the reservation details.
How long before departure do I need to be at the port for check in?
Check-in time for passengers with vehicles is 1 ½ hours prior to departure time. Passengers travelling on foot should check-in at least 1 hour before departure time. Please be at the terminal at least 1 hour before the scheduled sailing time, and even earlier during busy periods. We do not recommend that you purchase your ticket from our departure office at the last minute, especially during the high season.
How long before do I have to book passengers and vehicles?
We strongly suggest you book in advance in order to avoid any disappointments as space on the ferry is limited. Bookings are accepted subject to availability only.
When should I collect the tickets?
Tickets must be paid for 3 days before departure date. On occasions when the ferry is fully booked, clients are called in order to collect their tickets and effect payment against a deadline. Failure to collect tickets will result in bookings being cancelled automatically.
What is the distance between ....?
The distance between Malta and Pozzallo is 50 nautical miles. The distance between Pozzallo and Catania is 112Km. The distance between Pozzallo and Palermo is 160Km. The distance between Catania and Palermo is 193Km
Can I stay in the car during the crossing?
Due to safety reasons passengers are not allowed in the garage during the crossing.
Do you provide assistance for disabled passengers and do they have accessibility onboard?
The ferry is equipped with ramps and a lift in order to make it accessible to disabled passengers. The ship is also equipped with a toilet for the disabled.
Can I depart from one port and return to another (e.g. depart from Pozzallo and return to Catania)?
Yes this is possible. This year we have scheduled trips to Pozzallo and Catania in Sicily. All trips leave and arrive at Malta at the Sea Passenger Terminal, Pinto Wharf, Valletta. The trip takes approximately 90 minutes to Pozzallo and 3 hours to Catania.
Do you do one day excursions?
We organise one day excursions to Sicily visiting Mt. Etna and Taormina between March and October, and to Mt. Etna and Modica between November and February. We also organise one day excursions from Sicily to Malta between June and October. You can find full details on these excursions by clicking the "Excursions" button on the top of our website.

What is your smoking policy?
Smoking is not permitted in the interior areas of Virtu Ferries' vessels. Smoking is allowed only at the deck behind the Club Class lounge, accessible only to Club Class passengers (weather permitting.)
